The above 5 images show the non slip now on the deck and
How I made the non slip surface.
I first made sure the surface ground down to just the old Glass fibre then was clean and dust free then
lined down Electrical tape as a boarder then applied a
coating of polyester resin with
Black pigment well mixed in I allowed this to go sticky and
applied a second coat and while wet I laid a layer of NON
iron shot blast grid
like a carpet . Just as the resin had gone off I
removed the electrical tape and allowed the job to
Then swept off the access shot blast. When everything had gone hard and dry.
Then washed the whole of the decks down with a pressure hose
to remove any shot that was not adhered by the
The only place I could find to mount the compass was
on top of one of the cockpit seats..
No interference from any metal works or
electrics.. As you can see it still needs a
clean as the dust was made grinding the decks in readiness
for the non slip.
The rear deck has now been finished with the non slip
material and also the cockpit flooring ..
Still a lot more work to do to the cockpit area with
flowcoat and then Paint polishing works.
The mast lifting box is now completed your able to see
the rings on the sides they are for pulleys so the
ropes can be led back to the cockpit area.
The vents to the sides hold the boat horns and
the 4 sockets to the front are all the mast electrical
